19.04.17 - Academi Llanfair played Menai Bridge this evening on a very heavy green. Half of our squad had gone away for Easter holidays. A welcome return to brothers Cai & Dei Thomas. Cai fought hard in his match, but found the green very heavy. Dei comfortably won his pairs match with Gwynfor Parry 21-11. Cerys also found the green heavy as she tried her best to reach, she always found her line. A welcome return to Fflur who also struggled with reaching but was never too far from the jack. Kieran nearly shocked us all, he clawed back from 9-19 to 18-20 but lost 18-21, very unlucky not to win. In the other pairs, Kian Mills & Dave Jones won 21-10, Kian lead well and deserved the win. Player of the match goes to Hedd Owen who comfortably won 21-14. Congratulations Hedd for winning a box of Haribo! Final Score Menai Bridge 7-3 Academi Llanfair. Next match is a tough home game vs Beaumaris.
10.04.17 - First match of the season saw Academi Llanfair losing 1-9 to Llanfair PG. Gethin Hughes delivered some excellent shots, his opponent had to stretch him to beat him as Gethin was too good on short marks. Mathew Jones played well but was unable to find his usual top form. Sion Bell showed he could play well when he played his favourite mark but once his opponent had jack in hand, he chose another part of the green where Sion struggled a little. In the pairs, Cerys Parry and Margaret Heard started well and showed signs of consistancy but Llanfair were too strong. Left handed Carwyn Hughes played a steady game vs debutant Sarah Grey, but he suffered a 15-21 defeat. Charnjit Grewal was defeated by experienced John Griffiths. Elvis Laverty was the player of the match this evening as he comfortably beat his opponent 21-15. He wins a box of Haribo and aprears on the front page of our website as player of the week. Sub 8 year old Jac Bailey made his debut in the pairs with Dave Jones. Jac is a really good player for his age, he played some excellent shots - Well done Jac! Thank you to the parents for assisting in the kitchen. Next match is away at Menai Bridge on Wednesday 19th April.

- Every player to win 1 game
All 3 objectives were met and so we're now looking forward to 2017.
We are now actively looking for sponsorship to raise funds to buy a brand new kit ready for the 2017 campaign. Please email academillanfair@yahoo.com if you're interested.
